no, what i’m saying is that lay people hear the daily death stats and think “my god…. 200 poor souls that would have been alive were it not for this blasted virus. I’m wearing 2 masks today, and I won’t even be leaving my bed. CLOSE THE ECONOMY!!!”
When the reality is that the virus is quietly spreading throughout the population, often undetected, and as people naturally die of old age and ….. normal stuff, some of them have had a positive covid test. So they’ve died with it, not of it.
It’s a nuanced point. I don’t expect everyone to get it.
