If you look at all the anecdotes from countries like Korea, Singapore and Japan - ie where they have effective tracing systems - all the outbreaks have started in confined spaces…so what the CDC is saying on outdoor risk makes sense. Interesting on the low risk from surfaces though. Is the CDC completely politically neutral btw?

Im off back to the office in a couple of weeks, but everyone will be wearing masks and no one can even pass within two metres of anyone else. Pretty damn stringent!

Unless I’ve missed it, has the UK gov done anything similar to the CDC? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any info about low to high risk scenarios. We’ve certainly fucked up the masks thing too. Should be compulsory in shared indoor spaces such as supermarkets and enforced with fines, but there’s no way they will do that as we don’t have a enough police who can be bothered. Shitshow.

Millsy We have around 200 police officers per 100,000 people, which is very similar to Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, South Korea, Australia.

So, yes, if rules aren’t being enforced here it is fair to say that the police can’t be arsed, or the English are a frighteningly unruly mob.

Plenty of cops around, millsy, they just don’t have the balls to enforce a lot of laws now for fear of being filmed on a mobile and labelled as an anti-one thing or other. The UK is fucked. America lite now.

-si- personally think the lack of enforcement is down to the government being soft… Johnson is way too libertarian (or is it lazy?). You need a strong leader at times like this who is willing to upset a handful of people to achieve the best outcome.
