Mad_Cyril Interesting re: Apple Music though, didn’t know that!
Music > Settings > Files > Import Settings > change dropdown to AAC/AIFF/WAV or whatever.
Then click the file in your playlist, File > Convert, and it will create a new version (usually found in ‘Recently Added’).
Only format you can’t add (and therefore convert) is FLAC. Aforementioned XLD will handle those.
