Smallman1 35ml Gin 50ml homemade ginger syrup 50ml freshly squeezed lemon juice 100ml London Pride ale
Smallman1 Whizz up the ginger syrup, lemon juice, gin and half a cup of ice in a blender. Strain through a sieve into a frozen beer stein and top up with London Pride. If you don’t have a blender, place the ginger syrup, lemon juice and gin in a cocktail shaker with ice and get you shake on. Harder work but just as tasty!
vinnyt77 A shaky pete’s is a thing of wizardry, and you can buy ginger syrup readily enough online… Ref mulled wine - gotta be fortified, and never boiled. With red wine, I add port, grand mariner and brandy. For mulled cider, Chuck in some Calvados.
jonattonyeah bosstrabs Oh yeah, fucking hell. Mulled wine: the shittest thing about Christmas. Hideous stuff. Not a bad remedy if you have a few bottles turning. I feel the same way about sangria. Not ideal, but better than wasting good wine. Both are versatile so it doesn’t really matter what you have or how you mix it.

C_J It’s a New England IPA actually Dave. And a fairly shit one at that. The original HJ was dank AF and about 7% ABV but since they sold out, it’s 5% pisswasser

vinnyt77 C_J How confusing. Give the O-G a whirl if you haven’t already. May not be identical to the original Hazy Jane, but sounds a lot closer to it than the 5% stuff… They do a Triple Hazy as well, which is lovely, but lethal.
C_J vinnyt77 oh I’ve given it a whirl alright 😂 Its alright. I find it struggles to hide the alcohol content. The 2017 version was a proper artisanal product.
