Problem is in the US we have only just gotten rid of the Boomer poster boy Trump, so that does not bode well for turning the oil tanker around. The chasm between boomer ethics and new millennial seem vast, but as soon as the wealth starts trickling down to the new generation be interesting to see if ethics change. From an investment decision, would a newly minted millennial turn away a 50% oil stock return in favor of a 2% renewable energy project? Mmmm
For my generation - like many on here X’rs - the Acid House/90s really pointed us in togetherness and the mixing of classes and race to a different level vs the 80s. There was a real sense of positivity for the future. Nowadays, not so much when you look at all the vile racism and hate posted on social media with zero control. There’s a great deal of good in the world but has anything really changed for the better looking at the environment and how people treat each other?
I think the human race is pretty base when you drill down and take the fluff away. Money, power, greed, them and us mentality, selfishness …these traits transcend generations and cause so many problems. Free MDMA therapy for all I reckon!
