I see it quite differently. But that could be painted by spending most of my time in a historically Black city (with a penchant for activism - Black Panthers were founded here after all) in an area overwhelmingly liberal.
For one, I donât get why Antifa gets so much press. They barely exist. Itâs a bunch of suburban RATM cosplayers who are living out some sort of bizarre purge fantasy. I knew people like them at Berkeley, but nobody took them seriously. Might as well be the tooth fairy.
BLM, to me, is something that has a coherent message, with justified grievances, and strong support from most not named Hugo. Black people in this country are treated as subhuman, particularly by the police. The only reason itâs a âmovementâ (if disorganized) is because of camera phones. The treatment we can now see has been going on for ages. Itâs now just recorded, uploaded, and available for all to see.
The MAGA idiots might have legitimate complaints, but they have no idea what they are. Theyâre just too stupid. Their message is completely incoherent; is rooted strongly in trolling, hate, and misinformation.; theyâve hitched their wagon to a person who has no ideology other than who gives the ideologue cheers. If undocumented immigrants came out in force in support for Donald fucking Trump, heâd back them completely.
I guess in sum, Antifa barely exists, BLM is important, and the MAGA crowd are thick as pig shit with nothing to say other than disliking what theyâre told to dislike irrespective of how it actually affects them. I think theyâre different.
