zackster Along_the_Wire Don declares victory. (He’s up, so he won, right?) Cases created by right wing legal think-tanks are sent to friendly (bought) branches of the appellate court. (Stop counting mail-in ballots. The election ended when the president said he won, aka when he was up in the vote count) The Supreme Court hears the case from the appellate court arguing that the mail in portion of the election was unconstitutional because blah blah blah. The Supreme Court either A.) Upholds the decision 5-4, or B.) Has a split decision 4-4 (lets say someone abstained), or C.) Over turns the decision 5-4. Both options A and B give Trump the election, under this scenario.
303abuser zackster between stuff like this, the electoral college, super delegates, lobbyists, campaign funding, etc., i feel like it doesn’t matter who wins, the US is only a democracy by the loosest of definitions.
zackster And let me be clear. There is NO mechanism to stop this. If this happens and the people don’t respond with violence and over throw the government, we are officially over as a country.
zackster Unfortunately I highly doubt a coup would happen. We are such a whipped and beaten lot that I really think we will just bend over and take it.
303abuser zackster does the US even fit the definition of a republic? i think corporatocracy is more fitting.
zackster 303abuser Well that’s a total diff question. I am just talking about from the founding fathers’ / James Madison’s / Constitution’s point of view.
