My studio is absolutely garbage for treatment, so I do all my mixing on headphones, test on a couple of others sets of speakers (two have subs on them), and in the car. I just do my best to know how each environment should sound (one is sharp, one is bass heavy and boxy, etc.), then rely on Wayne to do a final check while mastering. It’s a crap shoot at times, but I think I’m getting better at it.
On another note, the Digitakt got an amazing update this morning. New sampling machines for stretching and pitch, sample reduction, can’t wait to finish work and see how it sounds. On paper it looks seriously amazing.
