I downloaded the Virus TI emulator. It sounds great - albeit with a small number of error messages.

Ableton ‘Move’. Do I need a new midi controller (if that is what it is) … possibly (but would need a new computer first …).

And, I just saw that Future Music is disappearing as a magazine.

…had missed this. Hoping the name implies something smaller/more portable?

Borrowed Push 2 for a while, amazing bit of kit, but I don’t always want to be sat at my desk when I’m making music, love my Launchkey Mini for this very reason

Unbroken1 The push has its uses, and I got one second hand a few years ago, but I’m not a huge fan of it.

I’m with you on hoping it’s something a bit different.

…thing with Push I guess is that principle of knowing the hardware so well, that you scarcely touch the computer, I think it would be amazing to have something that’s so well integrated, but it wouldn’t work for me as I don’t exclusively sit in my studio to make music.

Unbroken1 The standalone Push 3 was aiming at that mindset, so it’ll be interesting to see what this is aimed at.

Dubman I saw that on instagram over the weekend. Will definitely dip in.

Free to download but you need to pay for ‘commercial use’. Does use in music that a handful of people listen to (best case scenario 🙂 ) count as commercial use.

I’ve never even considered clearing or not using a sample. If something I write is popular enough that it becomes a problem, I’ll deal with it then. Which will never happen lol.

Will obviously know for sure tomorrow but the reddit leaks don’t scream essential purchase

though maybe it will be if it’s competitively priced.

£399 which is less than I was expecting. Looks like they are trying to grab some of Elekton’s market?
I have owned Push 2 for about 5 years and have to say that I don’t like using the pads, so not massively warm to this release. The LCD looks plop too. Elektron tactility is so much better. Shame there doesn’t look like any way to connect Move directly to other external gear like the Syntakt otherwise I might have gone for this.

Pre-kids I used to take what my other half would describe as ‘wires’ on holiday to muck around with when I had a spare 5 mins (plane rides etc) - basically jotting down ideas (fun fact - this tune was one started as a holiday sketch from the early 2010s - which I finally managed to work up properly for the album last year

I can see my younger self using this sort of device for that type of thing. Now I have kids there is no such thing as a spare 5 mins. I’d probably pay around £150 for a second hand one in a few years time, if it ever drops that low.
