Hugo in trance shocker!

whatever

I only got one - Julio Bashmore - but it’s not a genre I was really paying that much attention to at that time. I did immediately go to Beatport for the Fred P (no luck) and Trevino tracks.

Saw Fred P at the Pickle Factory a few years ago.

    Which is nice.

Not my scene but a couple of them sounded great. I got a fat zero. Some of the those DJs should be utterly embarrassed.

alistair Why Hugo? Is it because he lives in Berlin and loves acid techno.

        alistair and Hugo.

Dan Why Hugo? Is it because he lives in Berlin and loves acid techno.

The vast majority of the stuff in this episode is too early for me, and I’m really not that much in to acid sounds anyway. But apart from that…

alistair Some of the those DJs should be utterly embarrassed.

I’m not sure there’d ever been as low a score as 1.0 on any of these vids until now.

hugopal “Bisexual and proud” or whatever her T Shirt said was shocking. Some of the older guys have at least got memory loss as an excuse.

ScottBailey Adam X is a machine on these blind tests!

Yeah, two appearances on two different genres and two comfortably victories.

On the subject of Adam X and acid techno, I did like this of his which he put out a couple of years ago:

I’ve not heard of the DJs, let alone the records.

And techno. I don’t own a lot of new beat either as it was hard to get hold of back then. Didn’t know R&S was originally called Ferrari records.

Pretty small back catalogue to choose from compared to other genres. Even one of tracks featured was produced by one the contestants. 😅

SM001 yeah loads of them were on the same label (Ferrari /R&S).

Must have made a lot of the rounds fairly easy for those familiar with it.

Dubman the fuck are they calling that vid ‘Hardgroove’ for?!?!

              It’s just techno.

Maybe more loopy or tribal tinged techno if you had to specify, but not sure that should have really been necessary.

hugopal I only knew the Deetron track. Why don’t they just say techno ffs.

I always called that “loop techno” like Ben Sims, Technasia, Advent, Oxia, Mr. G, Umek, Sterac, John Thomas, Recycled Loops
or you may call this genre “Carl Cox 2002” and it won’t be far away

from recent times like this set much, although it’s not completely loop techno, but many tracks are

                  Half expected this on it.

Plays some cracking tunes though. Can only imagine how bad I would be nowadays on 2 turntables let alone 3. Sold mine about 15 years ago.

                    whatever
Needs to bang Embracing the Sunshine on in the middle for a rest though!

whatever Enjoyed this in the same style of techno.

Using the way beyond cliched ‘jack had a groove’ speech made me want to punch the screen before the music had even started.

It basically was just a much much more boring Jeff Mills, and needs to be at least a few bpm faster. I don’t know why you wouldn’t just watch/listen to Jeff Mills.
