My coworker is a big documentary-guy, and has been praising Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War on Netflix for me almost daily. I think I’ll double that with Annie Jacobsen’s upcoming book The Nuclear War, and not sleep for a month after.
Netflix
The Gentlemen is worth a watch.
We watched the first episode of 3 Body Problem, and jesus Netflix has poured money into this. Also it was weird to hear Benedict Wong use his real accent, instead of a fake Chinese-one. He hasn’t gotten a lot of roles where he is British.
Homegrove ah yeah.. I just put this on my list today and started the first episode just now. Looks quality right off the bat.
Funny in 15 Storys High with Sean Lock
Homicidr New York is good. I love NY crime documentaries.
Get gotti and mafia city also great
And Times Square murder.
A lot of fuss around this show.
Halfway through 3 Body Problem (4 out of 8 episodes) and it’s the best scifi-show I’ve seen since Devs. So far. Maybe it falls apart in the end.
I’ll have to finally show my wife Devs after we’re done with this actually. I can watch it again.
Homegrove I have now watched all 8 episodes and imo the first half is the strongest. The second half, as soon as the cat is out of the bag it drops in strength and starts to fall back on the ol’ ‘we’re at war’ ‘us vs them’ shallow plot with a shit ending. These days Netflix does not seem to want to commit to anything over 1 season’s worth of episodes. Then they watch their ‘statzz’ and MAYBE invest in continuing a story if a billion people binged the while thing in a week..
Morty-C-137 there are three books, so I’m assuming it’s getting more. It’s number one all over the world too.
I still live in hope they’ll follow up the excellent 1899
Oppenheimer is on Netflix for anyone that hasn’t seen it
Loudermilk has been decent so far. He’s a bit of a dry witted cunt so right up my strasse. Anyone catch it? Easy to watch and funny. Could do a lot worse!
