My mates organised a playlist for my 50th - ten hours worth of music. It’s brilliant - it seems a lot of friends remember me being massively into Depeche Mode and I’ve been listening to them a lot recently. Violator is such a fucking brilliant album - not dated one second.
One thing I’ve never really picked up on is that there a lot of great remixes out there and I don’t have any - heard quite a lot on mixes some of you have done. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Unpopular opinion but Songs of Faith and Devotion is my favorite DM album.
I think Alister has posted a fair few remixes.
Homegrove I was never really taken with it, but listened to it last week and it’s really very good.

Depeche Mode are a Guilty Pleasure of mine, I used to collect them pretty fucking obsessively if I’m honest. I have well over 400 different remixes. I have them all digitally if you want any give me a shout 
Favourite album of theirs is Black Celebration. Violator, Music for the masses and Songs of Faith are great. I think Ultra is very underrated.
Could possibly considered more of an Edit but I’m Yet to hear a better rework of a Depeche mode track than this:
Along_the_Wire I think they peaked with it. Songs (well this can be argued actually), Gahan’s singing (he would never be able to sing like that again, just listen to Condemnation, amazing), and it’s also still the best sounding record they ever made, some of the songs are amazing with headphones, In Your Room especially.
…fuck yes, that K&D mix of Useless is fucking lovely. Proper afters fave that one.

Phil-McRackin Ultra is pretty good. Have trouble naming more than 5 songs from the five albums that followed it.
Violator is definitely in my top 5 albums.
So good that they actually played this remix instead of the original on their last tour. Also really like the Air remix of Home

Right, I’ve listened to Songs of Faith and Devotion a couple of times now Hannu and I’m just not convinced - definitely a strong first half, but the second half is just boring - it’s the sort of music that if you heard it live, you know it’s time to nip to the bar or the toilet and you can hear a dulled version of the blandness.
Listen to Black Celebration. You won’t regret it. It doesn’t wallow in self misery like the second half of SOFAD.
