Smallman1 He’s suck a daft racist.
I still think Frank Broughton & Bill Brewster’s - Last night a DJ saved my life is a great read. Covers everything….real bit of history. Ironically Frank can’t mix a Vodka & Tonic.
Dan it’s on a whole another level. Superstars DJs Here We Go was also great, but it’s no surprise since Dom Phillips got everyone drunk for their interviews, so they didn’t hold back.
Dan how to dj right is a fun book too, still relevant if you’re just getting started behind the decks.
Dan is this the book where Sasha goes on about message board weirdo’s? 😆
rhouses Let’s see if we can sort something
Homegrove Almost finished it myself. To be honest I was only really interested in his early rave days as it was a big part of my life. We even used to buy tickets off his girlfriend Maxxine. Was a bit annoyed he hardly mentioned playing at Sterns as he was up there loads l. Although he did mention Mensa who got his first gig in Ibiza. The Burning Man section I also enjoyed.
Homegrove Dom Philips and Bill are very different journalist. I don’t know Dom but I’ve booked Bill twice and he’s a lovely chap.
Have only seen Bill Brewster play once but he was absolutely brilliant.
Smallman1 Me too. Was at Fabric, not far off 20 years ago. His first track in room 1 was Fool’s Gold. Jaw dropping…
His Lowlife parties are excellent. The one I went to with Danny Krivit was fucking brilliant. Krivit played his set and was front and centre with the punters.
rhouses I learnt to properly mix after reading that book when it first came out. Learning beats ,bars, phrases & mixing in key. Definitely still relevant today.
Dubman did have a chuckle when I skipped straight to beat matching when I picked it up and they call you out on it.
Dubman was recommended to me by some decent chap on here if I recall!
vinnyt77 His story about the state of Sasha’s record box was quite funny…he’s obviously pals with him as he did the sleeve notes /press interview for Scene Delete.
Good interview he did with Sasha years ago…sums us lot up nicely.

Dan Enjoyed that Dan. It must have been frustrating back in the day for the djs who used to play a set only for someone to post the tracklist the next day. Now it’s almost expected.
Dan Love interviews like this, thanks for sharing

"Why do you think you inspire such obsessive adoration?
It’s not just me.
It’s not just you, but it’s you in particular.
I definitely get the worst of them. Fucking weirdos."
Fucking lol!
I was at a house party a few years ago and my mates wife who was slaughtered had no idea who he was and was giving him tips on how to DJ. He just looked up at all the lads agreed with her and winked at us lot. What he doesn’t know about music isn’t worth knowing….he’s like the Oracle of great music.
Smallman1 Great innit
Dan Great innit
