FabiParas Enjoyed the middle bit, some nice chug-a-lug prog in there.

Scrutinising the numbers and living by the algorithm is a quick trip to proper mind loss. YouTube’s machination of recommendation based on viewing and bounce time would have me front load all my mixes to keep people on from the word go, but music just doesn’t work that way, so fuck it, do it for the love not the digits.

Its of my faves on the mix. From a personal point of view, the passage from tracks 6 through 17 just flows so smoothly.

Under each stream [from an uploaders point of view] there is a “minutes listened” number. Whether it’s accurate or not, or even refers to the stream I have no idea, but dividing the number of plays by that number gives out the average.

I think if you’re a paid subscriber you can turn the Number of Plays function off when posting a mix. The minutes listened seems to be only for a poster to see.

Its not a great function as its really deflating seeing a small minutes listened vs number of plays.

I dont understand how someone would be able to make a judgement call on a mix based on skipping through the tracks bit by bit. I even gave Al Williamzzz the benefit of the doubt and used to iron my shirts to his mixes bitd!

We’re so conditioned to get a thrill out of a number that is ever-growing and pulsing these days; and it is maddening. I guess I was a bit stoked at the mix after many years of not doing anything remotely interesting and wanted to share it and for people to enjoy it as much as I had done. But, the deflation (which I should really have expected) is real. boo, fucking hoo!

Anyway, expect more mixes from me as I’ve got the bug back and will be doing it mainly for me but will share and ask people, to quote Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, to listen without prejudice.

Listened to the 1st hour this evening, Dan. Proper tops off business, Prog lovers who like something a bit more muscular than Hernan should be all over this. The Coaus track being the fave so far. I’ll get though the rest tomorrow 👍
