Kells77 am listening to Ill Communication at the moment. Massive fan of Beastie Boys. I went to their live stage performance a couple of years back, where they talked through the story of the band. Was brilliant. It’s on Apple TV

as much as i love hip hop from that era, i’ve never understood the appeal of the beastie boys. i tried watching the stage show on atv and shut it off after half an hour, thought it was terrible. to each their own, but i don’t get how they ended up so popular. i just assume it’s easily digestible for white people, maybe i’m missing something.

303abuser it’s probably a nostalgia thing for me. I went on an exchange trip to America when Ill Communication came out and I listened to it loads over there, so always bought back good memories. However Check Your Head is a brilliant album.

Ill Communication and Check Your Head were definitely their high points.

I disagreed with them when they started making stuff like Intergalactic - shite student music for Freshers.

I can remember when Licensed to Ill came out in 86. I did like it but didn’t think they would of gone on to be so huge. I do like intergalactic and a few others but still not a massive fan

I used to love this track back when I was about 13/14 simply because there were a bunch of total squares in my form at school who used to hang around the form room at lunch time playing this out of a tinny speaker, and they even did all the voices to go along with it: “REGULATORS! Mount up!”

Pure jokes. This is how I imagine Millsy was at school, I have to be honest.
