Can’t understand why in this day and age we’d create more throwaway lanfill
DJ setups/Mixer porn/New toys thread...
Just bought an Allen & Heath PX5, looking forward to having a play with it
Nice. I’ve never seen one in person but they look / spec nicely and some friends online swear by them.
The way I’ve seen them I’m surprised they aren’t more popular.
NasserAlazzawi logical step up from the 42 ive had for the last 12 years. Added efx will be a bonus too.
I’ve had one since it was released. No complaints whatsoever. The rec output went kaput earlier this year, but my coworker checked it out. He just needed to replace a 1,8 € component inside the mixer. Handy to have a repairman nearby, the guy is also fixing other friend’s really expensive vintage synth at the moment.

@Homegrove so you don’t use USB to pc/Mac to record then and just use the rec out?
I hate usb audio channels with a passion. Tascam all the way here too.
As it happens tascam sounds better from master or booth on XZ compared with its internal usb stick rec on usb 2, too.
Yeah, I figured it records better audio than my crappy laptop. And I’m so used to it. Even when I played with Traktor I never used the internal record, and now that I play mostly with the XDJs and USB sticks it’s not an option anyway.
NasserAlazzawi I run my soundcard off the booth currently, will continueto do so for the foreseeable future I think

Very unexpected surprise landed today, so finally pulled the trigger on;
Been trying to convince myself I will benefit from the extra flexibility. In reality will probably just complicate things too much for me!
Will be fun trying though, and figured will hold value relatively well if I can’t use it

On their website but can’t grab off me phone (2nd pic along)

More logical than Radius! Mate’s got one, been meaning to go give it a try for ages, but he’s vinyl only, and I a) don’t want to drag my players to his home, or b) go through my vinyl and pack a bag.

Guess habits a big factor, your view is because you are used to a different approach
The Radius has actually taught me some basic principles. Balancing the filters and the pots just works.
I’d have spent years pissing about with extra eq’s before I figured it out. Also stops you trying to mash tracks that are really in complimentary.
So much easier to do with only 2 knobs to play with
