Such a good groove.
Such a good groove.
If you haven’t heard Daft Punk live you haven’t lived.
This:
One of my friends mentioned that their festival sets were a lot better….can anyone confirm?
Haven’t been this upset since Milli Vanilli split
Millsy is slagging off Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx because he was ‘shooting hoops’ and listening to bad hip-hop like Mobb Deep and Jurassic Five in 1998.
FEWMIN!
Didn’t Orbital call it quits once, only to be back in under 2 years?
Dry-Tinder Didn’t Orbital call it quits once, only to be back in under 2 years?
I don’t think Orbital ever made serious life-changing bank from a Pharrell Williams collab though.
Though I’d like to see such a thing.
Pharrel doing the vox on a re-release of Halcyon and on and on would be phenomenal
Orbital don’t deserve to make serious dosh playing that god awful Belinda Carlisle track in their sets.
Like comparing Goodfellas with Rise of the Footsoldier.
Random Access Memories is a mood based headphones album. Luxurious production and playing. Giorgio, Instant Crush, Touch and Lose yourself to dance and Contact are quality. Props to Get Lucky too, perfect pop song
this was awesome
That’s part of its problem - it’s a pop album. For those of us used to Homework or the Scott Grooves remix and, to a lesser extent, Discovery (Human After All was obviously made to get our of their record contract and knock out some fodder for a live set - it barely registers), RAM was very different.
But, hey, I’ve always said people who bitch and moan about DJ Shadow not doing …Entroducing every few years don’t really understand that maybe, just maybe, artists like to do different things even if it leaves older fans cold. And RAM was the biggest record of the year so it’s not like it was a swing and a miss.
And, yeah, it does sound amazing. Incredible production.
Marauder I’m already enjoying this, only 15 minutes in. Hadn’t heard it before.
They deserve their accolades as legends, yes they’ve put out a few pop records and a lot of shite, but so what? The same could be said of Chemical Brothers.
In both cases, their decent output more than makes up for it.
