Hopefully they’ll do some daytime middle aged friendly events

Its actually just the Driver pub reopening, but they’ve called it the Cross. Bastards

I did for a while I’m back through my own limited company now though. I used Parasol and they were crap. Cocked up my pension repeatedly. I’d avoid them.
elrobertos Agreed mate, those mid to late 90s Renaissance nights at the Cross were something special.

Old-Dutch These 2 are at it as well. ’We want to go on holiday, if you pay for it we’ll send you some pictures’
Mad_Cyril Surely at some point the bubble for all this has to burst. People will realise that essentially funding someone else so you can see them live the high life is mental. It’s the equivalent of paying for someones meal while you watch through the window.
It’s not even as if they have any talent or personality they are all absolute bell ends. It worries me that my kids see all of this crap like you tubers, influencers and curators and think its a normal career choice.
Along_the_Wire It always amazes me how often their vans seem to break down, it always an obscure part that takes a couple of days for the garage to get as well.
Of course nothing beats the good old days of a curmudgeonly counter assistant and paying £10 a track in a record shop. I really miss those days a lot
mono-stereo Yeah I use them a lot. It’s worth putting up with the dreadful UI just to avoid wading through a load of shite like you have to on Beatport.
My original point though, was that this is very different from the dynamic created by an entire set of back-to-back ‘classics’.
I know what you mean mate. I went to a manor classics night a few years back. All the tunes were awesome but I deffo missed the ‘what is this tune’ feeling, no real peaks or troughs in the night. Once you’ve heard Xpander at 12.15 where do you go from there?
Was a good for a laugh but no match for a decent night out.
I can remember seeing him at Space in 99. He was on before Sasha and he destroyed that room with a really dark and heavy sound, suited that room perfectly. It was before Space added extra bar and lights so it was just a pitch black room with lasers and amazing sound. Sasha came on and played till 7am and was just as awesome. Danny finished his set and came straight onto the dance floor and danced to Sasha just behind me. Which prompted my missus to keep nudging every 5 mins saying ’Danny keeps looking at your arse, I think it’s your lucky night treacle’
Remember him playing this
[Saw him again a couple of years later again at Space, he was good but he played a 16 bar loop of Crystal Waters - Gyspy Woman, which I can’t stand, for about 45 mins. I left the room, got a drink, checked out the other room and when I came back he was still at it. TBF when the drums dropped the room went off but I think that was more out of relief than anything else.
Smallman1 . Some of Reading is quite nice. Some of it is fucking rough. Its about 45 mins down the road from me. I remember years ago a mate popped over there to get some ‘supplies’. Driving home he heard on the radio that where he had just been someone had been sprayed up the wall with a machine gun and it was surrounded with armed police.
