jc1 Some friends got a couple of free Field day tickets so are now going. If there are any more spares around please let me know
Dry-Tinder I’m going to Sasha & Digweed in Glasgow. Return flights from Bristol is only £48, which is cheaper than getting a train to London and takes less time. I’m flying in, going to the event, then flying straight back.
Wally Desyn Masiello (apparently rebranded as just Desyn) is on in some club bar thing in Leeds in a few weeks. Might drop in. Does anyone know of the rebrand is because he’s playing different stuff these days? Anybody heard any recent sets?
whatever Wally Have heard some of his stuff (short YT vids) and it seemed to be on the deep tech side. Not what he was doing in the 2000-2006 era. Clip is from Sunwaves so bound to be in that style but should give you an idea.
matty303 Wally This is from 4 years ago, so not recent, and a B2B And there’s this from before lockdown, and the end of a set in Berlin
RichM alistair seen clips of the recent sonar set set and looks quality. Last time I’ve seen him was 2010
alistair RichM Jon Hopkins was superb. Really lifted the crowd. Couple of unfamiliar tracks sprinkled in that did some serious damage including a breaks I’d love to get my hands on. Loved the floaty bits of Halcyon going into Luminous spaces finale
Cankles-McJeggings Never understood the fuss about Desyn whatever his name is. Kind of shite rhouses would like. He went wah wah as far as I knew and couldnt leave his house unless he was peeled off the windows. Meltcase.
Dry-Tinder Cankles-McJeggings Me neither, I bought his Bedrock cd many years ago, Luke Fair’s was brilliant, I could not even get to the end of Desyn’s and I tried on many occasions
RichM You know what you are going to get with Aphex Twin, complete madness. He is definitely a marmite artist. Personally I think he is a bit of a genius, and love the randomness of his live sets
hugopal Smallman1 Suspect Hugo loves him. Correct. No surprise you can’t stand him given he regularly ventures well above 126 bpm.
alistair Was really looking forward to seeing him especially in light of his new EP, but it mainly sounded like a herd of elephants falling down the stairs and much of the crowd left early. Jon Hopkins smashed it and was the highlight of the day for me.
