Wasily btw how easy to use is Ableton vs Mixmeister? I assume a whole lot more complex?

    Jules72 Very different IMO. Others might disagree but for me if youā€™re using Ableton you essentially have to work out the set beforehand as the tracks require warping before you can use them in a mix. Thatā€™s quite time consuming if youā€™re trying to work out what works with what. I know for example @Unbroken1 plans his on CDJs first before going into Ableton.

    Ableton is much more powerful though, and allows you to use plugins, micro tweak the EQ in real time (unlike MM where you have to adjust and then listen back), select audio segments and edit and export them back into the mix, run limiters on the master sound levels etc.

    A printed mix off Ableton also sounds miles better than MM.

    I basically only use MM now to plan sets as I can listen to 12 or so transitions a minute, but because it annoyingly doesnā€™t work on any 64 bit macs means I have to use a PC for thatā€¦

        Wasily warping new tracks sounds a complete pain up the arse thoughā€¦ canā€™t believe there isnā€™t a better solution out there.. anyone know if the latest traktors are any good?

              alistair Thanks Al šŸ‘ That last transition was actually the easiest as those two tracks are a pretty perfect match. I was most happy with the Frankey-Sandrino into Avalon Emerson transition as had to massively edit the F-S track.

                  Jules72 Almost certainly a bot. 280 plays are Russian and 2 are you Julesy. Though I find if you get a re-post from someone like ā€˜Everbody wants to be the DJā€™ then it tends to exponentially increase your play count. Having Lana as the mix cover also helps Iā€™m sure šŸ˜‚

                      Jules72 Looks like it? Itā€™s all BS. Partly the reason why I only used to post on hearthis.at is you actually get a proper reflection of how many listens your mixes have, and generally speaking for me theyā€™re somewhere between 100 and 500 plays. The mix I did with @ScottBailey has about 550 plays on hearthis last time I looked, and twice that number on SC, but his latest effort is in the top 5 on Mixcloud in the Breaks genre, as are @ArchimedesQ ā€™s efforts.

                              Mad_Cyril Only got 1 play from you MC. After all the effort I put into the encore une fois at 90 bpm i was hoping for more šŸ˜¤

                                  The algorithms on Mixcloud are utter trash anyway. The amount of times Iā€™ve seen people with half the amount of plays way above me on a chart. There doesnā€™t seem to be any rhyme or reason, so I generally ignore it anyway. Only posted that pic on FB because thatā€™s the first time Iā€™ve seen an email saying something Iā€™ve done has got in the top 10 of something on their site šŸ˜‚
                                  As for plays, I very rarely get above 200, and of those, most skip through it and listen to a max of 10 minutes anyway. What can you do? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

                                    Thought that was Excellent mate. Very well put together, not typically the kind of tracks I would buy myself but that kind of energy makes a nice change. Downloaded the WAV for another listen.

                                      Thatā€™s what itā€™s all about mate. If being a DJ was a career, maybe the listens would be something to be concerned about. Itā€™s always nice if people listen and enjoy your mixes but the main thing is to enjoy making them.
