  • Track ID pls. Someone from this board opened their set in the year with this...

I’ve got an ID that’s doing my head in. It’s quite a well known one maybe about 10 years old, consisting of a dubby beat with female black vocalist speaking over the whole track, saying a sort of seductive Siren’s song poem, very similar to this that I’ve just been listening to (below), but not these vocals. Any Idea? Someone here used it to open a set they posted in the last year, @Matt @Dan @baggers44 or someone else?

Sounds like this:

Are you thinking of using the vocal on the Wasily re-rub of EUF?

The only tune i can think of that i started a mix with a woman talking, is this

From Tom in the comments -

I was on the Space Ibiza Terrace one Sunday evening in 2002. Carl Cox was on the decks and unusually he was playing pretty flat that night. Most of the crowd were moving around listlessly, wanting to have a good time but not able to find that euphoric groove. The DJ effortlessly mixed in the familiar baseline of Yeke Yeke. At first there were some groans as the track was quite old and many in the audience wanted to hear new music. But then the sound of the harp-like Cora came in followed by the iconic vocals and everyone started cheering. Carl Cox let the song play right to the end by which time the whole club was moving and dancing as one in perfect unity. I will never forget that moment for as long as I live. RIP More Kanté.

    None of these I’m afraid.

Not a mention of the 303’s. The clueless cunt.

Wasily would never have guessed that from your description 🤣
Could have also found it on Laurent Garnier’s 2000 essential mix 😉

What more do you want? 😂

baggers44 It’s much more a Garnier sound than a Paddy B one, whatever that is.

Matt Dan These are both lovely btw, haven’t heard them before either. Thanks!

You could have at least attempted to recreate the “You’ll never forget my wet wonder” lyric in a Vic Reeves club singer style, with some umm-tis umm-tis added for effect. Just sayin’….

That Reverie mix by Paddy is delicious.
