mono-stereo Hardly illuminating imo. You could apply the same logic to any sub genre really. New sound is created by a talented bunch of key artists, becomes successful and is then copied and subsequently rinsed by lesser talented individuals.
SM001 mono-stereo Bingo. Very few original sub-genres sound anything like they did in the beginning. My heart sinks when people still use the term “Prog” for some tracks posted on here.
Dan Layo Bushwacka Inland Knights To me they were (along with Evil Eddie, Mr C, Wiggle DJ’s) the pioneers of that sound.
mono-stereo bosstrabs The original genre was called Tek’ouse Finish work in reinsurance 10pm joe baxy into room 2 for a Tek’ouse knees up with El Tel. Off my Barnet falling up the apples and pairs. Pie and mash great set of lads.Oi oi! Etc etc
baggers44 I never really knew what it was - I assumed it was all that West Coast stuff on Red Melon and similar labels - (Greyhound), Terry F in the other room at Fabric and anything you could buy at Eukatech - oh and that french bloke EBE on the german label Plastic City. Some good stuff - some terrible - that rolling groove pumped out by Mr C on every track - godawful.
Pickles baggers44 Yeah PLastic City was a bit hit and miss but some of that Terry Lee Brown Jnr and Timewriter was decent (but of its time)
Smallman1 Tech house and The End were just the most beautiful match made in heaven. I think Donald Trump has hacked my account.
alistair I’m not even sure “tech-house” was a thing, more a sound, a feeling - just people playing house and techno stuff together that had a certain sound to it.
Smallman1 Not everyone understands tech house music. It’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing.
Unbroken1 …the problem with ‘tech house’ is that it called itself ‘tech house’ and subsequently ‘blew up’. Ignore what the journalists call it, and play the music that makes your willy tingle. As soon as something gets a name its on its way out.
