No, railways should 100% be nationalised, that’s something you and I most likely agree on.

A natural monopoly should be run in the public interest.

That journey, by the way, is 663 miles. Standard class is about 65 quid.

Correct, I’d just extend it to nearly all national infrastructure, or at least the bits that are critical, and the bits that most enrich the country… this is the thing that for me shows the holes in the Tory ‘patriotism’ lie. To be in control of your own infrastructure and cash flow are the basics of what a government should be doing, it’s the most patriotic thing you could do, but they wrap themselves in the flag, peddle immigration gimmicks whilst letting more in, and asset strip the country.

These stupid ticket prices are likely covering losses via Delay Repay scheme.

Have just trousered £270 for Wednesdays shenanigans.

Bit rotten than it gets passed on to non-corporate travellers as well (I’m assuming those in 1st on this shite, that aren’t corporate, are either too rich or too stupid to care)

Sings circle of life whilst counting free cash

Haven’t used trains very often in the last few years, but have taken a few recently and each time it’s standing room only. People squished up against each other even in first.

I don’t know how people put up with it. I’d end up having a nervy b if I had to commute into London.

Get a later train is always my advice, always less crowded.

      Cheers!

      Which is nice.

alistair that and the complete lack of ability to describe a complex system/problem using X. Such a shit medium.

Smallman1 hope you are walking or cycling to it to save the planet??

All time high amount of passengers through Heathrow last year, it would appear that foreign travel still is high up on the agenda for most people

RichM hope you are walking or cycling to it to save the planet??

I’ll offset it by only drinking Spanish lager whilst I’m there, one has to do their bit!

mono-stereo GWR are shocking. Needed to be in London for 0730 on saturday. Got a train that was supposed to arrive at 0705 and I’m 25 mins late before the day has eve started. Coming home was a total scrum. It’s fucking miserable.

Smallman1 When and where in the island are you going? Might see me cycling round, Granto several miles ahead of me.

                Going to Alcudia Bens.

                  Week before Easter…
