          Hursty do you know if they have offset any of their carbon emissions for the event? I’m guessing they probably have, but press would rather not mention that as it doesn’t fit their agenda

              bosstrabs The idea that you must fight climate change ‘perfectly’, or fight it in a carbon neutral way, is laughable also. Anybody fighting a war would expect casualties.

                RichM Does anyone actually believe in offsetting, the certificates are generated by companies who claim to be investing in carbon offsetting projects but you have to take their word for it….

                On the face of it, it’s a great idea, pay some money and the carbon you emit is offset, but it’s a little more nuanced and complex than that.
