Have a friend from there. They said MC (not Mad Cyril) gets bouts of weird weather due to its elevation. Dunno how science that is but that’s what she said.

    Currently 103/40 here in Oakland. Brutal heat. Just brutal. We usually get warm weather later in the year, when the day are shorter, so it’s not too bad. This heat this early in the year is very, very unusual.

    Yeah, other places get hotter. But our infrastructure (housing, public transport, all that) is built for a more temperate environment. Walls are thin. No AC. When it gets like this, you can’t go anywhere or do a damn thing.

    EDIT moving to Scotland immediately. Midges > 100 degree June weather

      jonattonyeah It was even warm down here in SD today. Not as warm as where you are, but warmer than normal. I turned on my AC for a couple hours to cool my apartment down. Normally I can just go with windows open until mid-July at least.

          You’re still in SD! Thought you had ideas of moving. All things considered, SD is a fantastic place to live. Get your fries out of my burrito, ’though 🙂

              jonattonyeah Yep! No idea where else I’d go at the moment. My family lives elsewhere, and I am happy to just visit them there.

              Agree about the fries in the burrito, but I’m not giving up carne asada fries.

                Who the fuck would put fries on pizza. Probably the same freaks who put pineapple.

                Smallman1 first I’ve heard of that too. I’m a pineapple on a pizza guy however. But if I’m in a real pizzaplace I won’t ask for it. And not just because they wouldn’t put it in there. 😃

                  Fries in a burrito is a San Diego thing. Dunno why or when it started.

                  Eggs on steak is a Brazilian thing. I’m not an egg guy so never had it, but given their skills with the ole bovine, not going to argue with Brazil about how they do their cuts of meat.

                    Homegrove The fries basically replace the beans and rice in a regular burrito. I don’t like it but lots of people do!

                            Came across a Mexican place in Windermere last time I was over. Called Bandito Burrito. Wanted to tell them Bandito is a slur that’s quite frowned upon these days. But I’m not Mexican and I doubt they meant any harm so whatever.

                              Places like Windermere are perennially stuck in the 1970s.
