Amps they’re behind in tech and they’re lumpy both financially and physically. I used to love Sony TVs, but they’ve been asleep at the wheel for some time

How often do you lot change TVs? I’m on my third in 20 years.

Homegrove The last time I bought a tv was 6 years ago. Before that, 2011. I still have the one from 2011, but it’s small in comparison to what’s out there now (32inch), so that’s in my bedroom and my bigger, newer TV is the one I use most often.

Every 5 to 7 years I’d guess. When I bought my OLED I moved the Panasonic plasma that had been downstairs into my dj/gaming room.

Couldn’t help but read this in the voice of Partridge 😆 . You are right though, I think it mostly boils down to the fact that they’re reliant on other companies for the panels.

https://www.rtings.com/tv and the TV geek forum on https://www.avforums.com are both good places to do some research.

BF (RIP) would have been all over this thread!

In the market for a 50″(ish) TV. No gaming. Just streaming, sport and playing .mp4 files

        Any recommendations please?

You can’t go wrong with any of the latest offerings from LG or Samsung.

Has anyone gone in for a TV with two tuners, where you can record straight to a USB in the back whilst watching another channel? Or does everyone just use catch up services?

Got a virgin TiVo box which can record and can watch multiple channels at the same time.

Dubman Yeah, got a Humax which does similar, looking to jib it though.

I know what you mean. A friend told me to get a fully loaded firestick off eBay. But can’t be asked.

Dubman I’m trying to do a bit of future proofing whilst not having a million things plugged into the back of it.

For anyone that has got a double tuner tv, and uses it to record, what make did you go for and what is the internal TV recording software like for recording and playback?

                  Anyone? Buller?

When I binned of Sky, it bugged me that I couldn’t record or pause live terrestrial TV, but after a few weeks, I didn’t give a shit - I’d just never use that function.

                  I haven’t Amps.

                  Hope that helps.

Smallman1 you wouldn’t know if you were coming or going with two tuners.

Lols all around for Millisey and Edward.

Turns out I was miss sold on the double tuners, doesn’t work quite as advertised.

Smallman1 lol. The salesman will still have you buying at least one additional tuner and lock you into some sort of watertight contract for six years.

At least then there would be something watertight in that flat of his.

The pouch, like my bants, is tiiiiiiiiiight!
