Dan three months later, but good shout!
Smallman1 Got given a sleeveless Patagonia gilet at a 3 day retreat I’m at.
Is that because sleeveless is more convenient for the fisting with your builder chum?
and it snowed. yay.
303abuser on Ed’s romantic getaway?!
i wish. it’ll melt today/tomorrow, but it’s too early for this. had to be careful running this morning with sneaky ice on some of the sidewalks.
Apparently we were the 2nd coldest place on earth last night. Coldest Boxing Day in 100 years too. It’s way too early in the winter for this, normally January and February are worse.
303abuser Fuck.. whereabouts in Canada do you live. I’ve just been speaking to my friends in Seattle. They’ve been snowed in as they have a cabin in the woods and have started to run out of food.
Dubman Edmonton, Alberta. We had almost no snow 3 weeks ago and it was unusually warm, then the freezing rain started, then it got really, really cold the last couple of weeks. Can’t imagine being isolated in a cabin through snow like that.
303abuser Thankfully they are not to far from the main road. But it’s so hilly it becomes to dangerous to drive on the roads.
303abuser Great part of the world. Is Cheetahs strip joint still going 😎
Sounds like awd/snow tires are a necessity, I wouldn’t drive anything else living here.
We’ve had rain for eight days straight and Tahoe has seen sixteen feet of snow. Donner Pass, where those people ate each other, has had four feet in 24 hours. We need it. Badly. So whatever. But unusual.
jonattonyeah Donner Pass, where those people ate each other, has had four feet in 24 hours.
Maybe it should be renamed Pass Donna.
4 feet? Wonder when they’re gonna eat the rest
Old-Dutch
It’s a pretty gnarly story. They were stuck up there for four months. Back in 1847. It’s stunning in the summer but brutal during the winter. They ate each other.
We’ve had a “normal” winter so far, which is now unusual. IE cold weather, and snow. I’m loving it.
A balmy 11 degrees here in the greatest city on earth.
jonattonyeah I love Tahoe. Went there for two weeks on my third ever time snowboarding and had the best fucking time. Loads of roads like that
I know about it because of The Shining.
Homegrove coincidentally shot here in Alberta too.
Dan You must have seen it during the summer or you went somewhere else. Not sure about cheetahs, don’t think i’ve been in a strip club in 20 years, but I can tell you to avoid amateur night at Rusty’s. 😂
303abuser The Shining? Opening credits were shot in Glaciar Park in Montana, the hotel that was used for the outside shots is in Oregon, and everything with the cast was shot in the UK (studio mostly, backlot for the scene where Ulman shows the Torrances the outside of the hotel).
Homegrove
Yup the hotel is right by Mount Hood in Oregon. Went a few years back. The inside doesn’t look anything like the film.
I think my favorite random part of the film is Jack, waiting for his interview, just chilling in the lobby reading a Playgirl magazine. Playgirl!
Homegrove I spent a month in Montana…. beautiful place. June 94 😂👴🏻
Homegrove My bad, i must be thinking about another movie then, i thought part of it was shot at the banff springs. It’s not like my memory is getting any better as i get older haha.
