jonattonyeah Yeah, it’s very similar down here, except without the pre-existing fun culture. I love the outdoors down here though, which is why I’m here. The beaches and sunsets are gorgeous, the mountains aren’t far off, desert just beyond that….if being outside is your thing, this is the place (which, as you said, is a complete 180 from what I grew up with).
That being said, I don’t think this is the place for me long term. I just can’t afford it. It makes me ill to think that a half million dollars can get me an apartment here, when I’m ready to buy a home, and that would go so much further somewhere else. Still, I’ll enjoy it while I can and hopefully time my exit appropriately. Probably won’t though, because that’s how I roll 😆
