This thread has become a Hugo/Zack docking fest. The only question is who has the foreskin.

I’ll assume this was the plan all along, Zack. Well done if so. 4D chess.

zackster Board pillock and general fashion victim Zackster continues to use (and overuse) every ridiculous saying that comes into common usage among the pillockocracy.

Latest being ‘a bop’.

Zackster simply still doesn’t get it. We create the sayings in this community, then others copy us.

The we is now Hugo and Zach, David. You are on the outside looking in.

A recent favorite Hadone set where he plays mostly
techno, as opposed to the nu hard trance sound.

If I get another mention today from Hugo I’m gonna get a techno horn.

    LT… The Techno Viking

LT42 If I get another mention today from Hugo I’m gonna get a techno horn.

He won’t tek no for an answer

zackster Liking the first half of this, takes me right back to Voodoo or the like. Noice!

@zackster can you recommend a good Robert Hood set? I’m almost certain I’ve asked this of you before.

Amps he did one in Sherwood Forest a few years back that was pretty good

      A techno-induced erection?!

hugopal Those last two tracks you posted sound more like traditonal “Trance” tunes to my ears. When I think of Techno I tend to think mainly of percussive music, but most of this genre talk is subjective.

mono-stereo yeah, they are very trance-y, but quite a bit of what’s around in the current techno scene leans that way. It’s pretty much melding hard techno percussion and its moody aesthetic with 90s prog trance riffs.

There are some DJs like Courtesy and Alpha Tracks who pretty much play whole sets of this kind of style, including a number of original 90s trance tracks mixed in, and others such as Hadone and Sugar who sprinkle them in occasionally amongst modern tracks which you might generally consider a bit closer to more “traditional” loopy percussive-style techno.

zackster As far as someone who bridges the gap, I’d say Dax J is a guy who falls in between a Hadone and Perc.

I reckon I Hate Models is the DJ who most falls between Hadone and Perc.

Yeah great call. He was probably the guy who introduced me to most of the artists in this new hard trance world. I don’t follow him as closely as I used to; his style has become just far too insane. 150bpms is at the low end for a lot of he recent sets. His album on Perc Trax was really good tho. Kinda set the stage for what is now so common, as I think about it.
