Tbf I could use Dazzler over at one of our single family homes rn. Need a new kitchen, bath, and a tree cut down and hauled.

zackster Oh you don’t like that it rains in your living room every time the family in #2 takes a shower?? Maybe you should try PAYING YOUR RENT ON TIME!

Lol!

All I will say is that this is Hugo’s avatar on Whatsapp

Do My Little Ponies even have genders?!

Definitely not these days. It would only offend people

Of course they have genders! How the hell else would they reproduce? Talk sense lads.

        Lol!

Have given both CDs of JVM’s Bedrock release a listen practically back to back for the first time in never and CD2 is def the better of both discs, though the offbeat mixes did initially grate. The best of the Bedrock CD mixes for sure. Quality stuff.

BlainSA though the offbeat mixes did initially grate

I’ve only listened to it once, because of this. Doesn’t add anything to the mix for me. In fact, detracts from an otherwise great selection of tunes.

vinnyt77 I just put it down to trying to have a style rather than a mistake. See Tyrant CD1 Hear dis sound which is unforgivable for me. Have heard Digweed and Sasha pull off some interesting -4, +2, +4 beat mixes many times live which helped to make the mixes more percussive. These Bedrock mixes were not Tyrant CD1 bad for me. As a whole I thought the mix was better.

Completely get what you’re saying. Normally a big turn off for me too.

BlainSA I’m not against the idea per se - just don’t think it did anything in this mix.

I think it’s one of Digweed’s mixes from 1998 - live from 3beat maybe? There’s an off-beat mix from the Jam + Spoon mix of far above the clouds into a Cabala track on Whoop!.

It’s fucking amazing. Used to listen to that transition back time and again to figure out how/why he did it, and why -when I was first learning to spin.

Realised I’ve used the wrong terminology. I meant off beat as in 2nd beat.

I remember someone telling me about Seb Fontaine doing an ‘amazing’ off beat mix and how it sounded like some crazy build up, but I just couldn’t give him the credit and thought he’d fucked it up and just went with it.

vinnyt77 Nice. Would appreciate a share if you have it mate.

And yes, there wasn’t anything musically impressive with the 2nd beat mixes, I agree.
