-si- Yup….ADID as a style is pretty dreary, though agree there’s the odd tune that catches the ear

Wally I like to think Damo is our board’s very own Lee Burridge - except if LB kept playing quality stuff instead of going to shit.

Been saying this for a year!

Imho, ADID, Life & Death and (in part) Anjunadeep all got lost up their arses.

Loads of ex-trance djs here in NI playing “deep, melodic, progressive house” nowadays which basically means they play everything that anjunadeep releases. Which is mostly a trance-lite sound. Def the odd cracker in amongst it all, not debating that but not a fan of the majority of anjunadeep stuff either for that reason.

sbando Literally all sound the same. It’s like they use the same stock drum.

I skip passed most Ajunadeep tracks after about 4 bars

Wally absolutely loves this sound and the absolute chancer of chancers Joe Miller.

Smallman1 I’ll take no lessons from the man who was yanking his flaccid cock over that Ame’ set.

…still maintain ADID is one of the best labels around, almost always something worth listening to, even if you wouldn’t necessarily want to hear an entire set of it. They’ve unearthed some amazing artists many of whom have since moved way beyond the label’s sound, sub-labels Tale & Tone/TRYBESof are by-and-large excellent too.

I find Anjuna way more hit and miss… the odd belter (a fair bit of artist crossover makes it inevitable) but also a lot of trance-lite fluff IMO.

I’ll always give Lee a listen as well, whenever he gets written-off he comes back with something surprising.

While we are at it, more generally ive not been very impressed with the quality of the music in sets I’ve heard the last few months….house music in a rut?

I thought the best music got made in the bleakest of times?

Good way to find out is to check Mano Le Tough on Boiler Room on Saturday. Will be all his new stuff he’s made during the lockdown.

I’m hoping the MLK I have a dream speech gets an airing.

Millsy David Guetta and his manservant played it recently for a BLM tribute and I think racism actually stopped forever at that precise moment and the world came together as one.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to suggest Davy g probably thought he would rid the world of racism in one fell swoop with the airing of that track. If you notice the intensity of his stare at the camera, he is definitely thinking “this is it! I’ve done it!”
