Cracked the 100 miler last weekend, it ended up being 167km in total with 5500m vert in just over 30 hours.
It was very warm for the day parts which made it tough, quite a few DNFs, but I think we dodged what could have been a crazy hot weekend.
The pain was ridiculous but even more interesting was the body giving up sending the pain signals and you feel fresh again, quite weird to go from totally broken and just about able to walk to running and getting a PB on an ascent up a mountain at mile 95!
I’ve canned the 200 miler for next year, although I loved it I’m going to work on building speed up for the shorter stuff, takes less time
