Album of the year
Nobody wants to take the bull by the horns. A real shame. A once great institution.
BF (RIP) marshalled it brilliantly.
I vote Dave to take the reigns. He has the necessary charisma and stage presence to present it.
Art School Girlfriend - Is It Light Where You Are
I like sad girly shit, so sue me.

LT42 Good call, given he was the driving force behind the orginal EOYA threads.
Will happily repost if a respectable EOY thread is started, but album of the year has to be Joy Orbison.

Not a particularly good year for albums, but perhaps not much of a surprise given the pandemic.
I’ve been enjoying DJ Manny - Signals In My Head on Planet Mu though; melodic, trippy Chicago footwork type stuff, also with some broader house, techno and breaks influences.
Me and Smallman should run this end of year awards malarkey, we’re basically the Sean Connery and Roger Moore of message board bants.
Down voted as it’s not even an artist album.
Dubman no worries Dubman, although I didn’t see anything mentioned about artist albums
Not a single artist album has turned my head this year, yet again. Even the rock albums are a load of rubbish these days. Nothing edgy at all. Too busy worrying about getting cancelled.
So what with all the above AND the CD2 debate a few months back, GU13 got played more times than anything and stood head and shoulders above everything…again

These albums were at least an 8/10
Bicep - Isles
Lone - Always inside your head
DIM KELLY - Nocturna animal
Damon Albarn - The nearer the fountain
War on drugs - I don’t live here anymore
Billie Eilish’s was decent too
