I’ve just ripped my studio apart to both make room for some new gear and hopefully spark some creativity. I am looking to place several groove boxes behind my laptop. Can anyone here recommend any synth/laptop stands that would sit on a table or workbench? I have looked into buying a few of these things like 8 different times now, but never pulled the trigger. I find it telling that which ever style I had most recently looked at has vanished when I go back to the task of selection. Any advice you ledges can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Desktop Style Instrument Stands
i’ve been using these to elevate my electron boxes, but i don’t think it’s what you’re looking for.

i know lot’s of people have repurposed a variety of laptop stands and tv mounts, sorry i don’t have any specific recommendations but this thread might be a starting point …
Thanks dude. I went with one of these:
will either order a second or return depending on what I think.
no worries, i know there are some options out there. i’m just now at desk capacity, so if i add anything else, i’ll be back here asking the same question.
what are you using for a mixer? i think this tascam is going to change my life.

I don’t use a mixer for my tunes. My audio interface is the Motu Ultralite MK3 and I use the Akai APC40 to control all of my tracks. Both of those combined seem to do the job. I was going to buy some massive Allen and Heath mixing desk off a friend who fell on hard times but I honestly wouldn’t use it or even know how to maximize it.
ah ok, so you just track into ableton then?
Yep. I make sure everything coming in tops out at -4db and I do the entire mixdown right in live. Most all of the great techno tracks were made on Pioneer dj mixers so I figure I can do without a mixing desk for now.
yeah i was using my vestax mixer until last week too. the most important thing is to find a workflow that works for you. i’ve enjoyed just jamming out some ideas again, it’s a fun way to create.
