whatever Not likely to escalate to WW3. Has echoes of what spread across Twitter after the assassination of Soleimani two-years ago. Obviously Russia invaded Ukraine before in 2014 and have remained a feature on the borders for the Ukrainians for the last 7-8 yrs. An invasion does seem to be odds on but Putin’s overall objectives don’t correspond with pursuing an all out war. Is more likely to be a strongarm tactic to facilitate discussions with NATO concerning the 1000 mile shared border with Ukraine and his aspirations to restore what was lost when the Soviet Union crumbled.
whatever whatever Also, Russia backed themselves into a corner to some extent when bilateral discussions in Geneva broke down and they said that further discussions wouldn’t be fruitful. Putin will feel the need to walk away with it with some sort of win under his belt.
