Homegrove I read a book about Oleg Gordievsky recently and it talked about Finland during the Cold War, I had no idea they bent the knee to the USSR during that time, even though they wanted to be western leaning, the power/threat of the Soviet Union was high enough to ensure any demands were met.
Makes more sense now regarding joining NATO, I just had it in my head Finland were fiercely independent from Russia after the Winter war in 39?
