This implies that he would stamp his feet, have a strop that he can’t get his own way and then blow himself and the world up. Its not plausible at all. He still wants control. The Russians have been wanting to work out a truce with Ukraine for months but Zelensky (pushed by the WH) is standing tough, even coming out yesterday and saying Russia must concede every bit of occupied land before Ukraine even think of coming to the table, many don’t think this is possible. In my opinion Putin will spin some sort of small victory and pull out. He still wants to hang onto power and prob needs time to work out an exile plan for himself. A new regime in Moscow would make some sort of peace with Ukraine, blame everything on Putin, apologise for the wrongs and everyone gets back to making money and corrupting. The US will then have their proxy and the grip they’ve had on Kiev since 2014 will be stronger.
All just my opinion though, who knows where it will go but nuclear weapons aren’t a viable option for Putin. I know people think he’s just a wreckless Bond villain, but he’s not. He’s just like any other dictator, hungry for more money and more power.
