Amps think you need to educate yourself on the history of the Soviet Union and Russia…. What Putin is now doing is exactly what Russia has been doing for centuries - disrupting and attempting to eradicate the identities of countries on its borders (Russification)… with a flagrant disregard for the lives of Russians themselves.

As a liberal/west orientated Russian friend said to me the other day, there are no ifs and buts, it is quite simply wrong to think of Putin’s invasion as anything but an inhumane and disgusting act.

Nobody on here would disagree with that. Again, the issue is the why and how, not how it makes people feel.

It’s difficult for anyone of sane mind to understand his motives other than seeing a bored old man in his bunker, nearing death, looking to cement his legacy in the same way that many Soviet leaders have done… whilst appealing to those in Russia who miss the order and freebies of the old Soviet Union.
