Dubman use Master Tempo (Pioneer) aka Key Lock on some decks. You can get away with a lot then.

Amps Is the right answer. You can get away with a couple of percent per track if you are careful. A doddle these days with key lock / master tempo etc.

Dubman 2-3% is safe, beyond that it can still sound off even if it’s not in a completely different key. Really depends on the track, the more melodic it is, the worse it’ll usually sound. If it’s all Zack style pots and pans, you won’t notice.

I only use vinyl these days. Had a few years using digital. But have gone back to vinyl as I prefer it.

Dubman I prefer vinyl aswell. It’s so much more rewarding than digital. Sadly I can’t justify the expensive record habit these days.

Yeah for sure. When I was really paying attention, around 99-02 or so, Sasha was playing a ton of pitched down techno records. Like in the -⅚ range and they sounded really good. Slowing down gives the sounds more space to breath and fattens the bass a little, pitching up I was always really careful with.

most of music is pitched down when i have a mix. I found a great old dub techno track earlier today. the original is so fast but pitched down to -⅞ just sounds so much better.

Rekordbox bumps your track to the next/previous key at +- 3%. I guess that must be the point where it’s in between but closer to the next/previous than its original key.

Dubman Going to play around with my next solo project in the 70-100 bpm range and see what comes out. It feels like I tolerate about 2 bpm less every year as I get older lol.
