Wasily …it’ll always degrade to some degree, clearly not pushing pitch range too far (unless resulting artefacts are qualities that you by some chance like) is the only real ‘answer’. For DJ’ing though, who wants to listen to tracks that are more than +/-6 out of their intended range anyway?
In Live I’m playing with the different warp modes much more now, and tweaking formants/envelopes when pitch shifting samples, it feels like you can always get a better result if you can afford to spend some time when processing.
The results I’ve had with AI have been pretty fucking amazing tbh, platforms like Lalal.ai have multiple different AI engines you can move between if you can’t get quite what you want- can’t pretend I know what it’s doing, but even the default one is improving over time. Tried to rip an acapella about 6 months ago, built a track around it but there were one or two moments where it glitched ever so slightly… went back and had another go the other week and its 👌
