Along_the_Wire Yeah that’s probably a good way to describe it and, basically, improving my vo2 max is one of the primary goals of that workout.

Jules72 Haha I know. I did a baseline test in february and I’ll do another in august after all the running I’m doing. I’ve actually been considering trt for a while anyways, but this will help make that decision.

On a side note, I ran a fast 5 km on Saturday which has got me motivated again. I’ve adjusted my training a little to incorporate more sprints and a few less kms. I’ll likely do more trail running too, just to keep some of the wear and tear off my knees and for some additional variety.

303abuser I’ve mentioned his book/podcast on here before, but Matt Roberts (celeb PT) recommends the following for boosting testosterone… his package contains capsules from Time Health:

    Maca Root capsules
    Oyster meat capsules
    Adaptogen complex 6 capsules
    Resveratrol capsules
High strength vit D and K capsules (this last one is from Amino Man)

I’ve never felt in better health physically 303 👍💪

Jules72 Thanks, I’ll check that stuff out. I’m already taking a handful of supplements every day, a few more can’t hurt. I’d much rather not deal with hormone replacements, but we’ll see how it shakes out. I actually feel pretty good generally speaking and I’m about as fit as I’ve ever been, just had a low-normal test result when I was dealing with the fallout from covid.

        5 days later

I’m officially registered for a half marathon in august and I might do a 7 km trail race in July. That’ll give me something to work toward over the summer.

Good luck.mate The last time I registered for charity event was back in 2018 when I rode the London to Brighton off-road MTB challenge. Over 70 miles. It certainly focused the mind and since then I’ve quit smoking the weed. I can’t even stand the smell of it now.

Dubman Thanks, I’m looking forward to it. I did 21 km of half road/half trail with some brutal hills on Sunday in just under 2 hours, so my 1:44 goal time should be achievable on a flat course. I’ll find out I guess.

That sounds like a long off road ride, I may try something like that in the future. For now I’m enjoying the simplicity of running. And I’m keeping smoking to a minimum, but edibles are a key part of my recovery strategy every week.

I haven’t been on the bike for a Few weeks now due to my new business. I’m working much longer hours which doesn’t help. I did think about running again but I much prefer riding up the downs.

Dubman I think at this stage of life, it comes down to doing things you enjoy. This fills my need to be competitive and should get me into pretty decent shape. How’s the new business going?

                303abuser
It’s doing alright. The price of fuel is really hitting my profits and there’s a lot of competition that are doing jobs for silly money. I’m just waiting for a fuel card to arrive so that will save me some money. I also looked at buying a brand new van but was told that it’s very hard to get credit these days if you’re a sole trader.

Dubman I hear you with gas prices, they’re killing me too. Glad it’s going ok so far, getting going is always the hardest part.

I’ve came here to say that I’ve never felt larger and more disorganised than ever at home and it’s affecting everything. Work feels chaotic when it really isn’t, it’s just the feeling being in a bit of a mess is causing and I am not exercising. I hate feeling like this and I need to sort this out.

Back at it, felt great to hit the badminton court. Slammed some noob with brand new $150 trainers who works in Amazon, 11-3.

Will probably get back on the IF this week as well.

                      That’s quite a commute!

                      3 months later

Been doing this for a little while now and am finally seeing results.

RichM low testosterone leads to low energy/drive, man boobs and low sex drive

Jules72 isn’t a healthy diet and exercise enough to boost that? I know it gets more difficult as we get older, but if you don’t want moobs, eat better and do more exercise.

I don’t take any supplements, mainly because I’ve not looked into it, but I always look at my diet first when it comes to things I may be lacking. However I’m no expert so I’m probably completely wrong.

RichM Yes, strenght training and proper nutrition and sleep is good for T-levels. Although (obviously) it will just keep your T-levels up to what is considered normal for your age (mostly). Try as one may, a 50 year old man will never reach T-levels of a 23 year old naturally. It will drop off with age.

T-replacement therapy has it’s uses but it’s also a trendy thing right now and I would wager that 80% of men doing it have no medical reason for it and they convince themselves “this is different from what bodybuilders do” but it really isn’t. It’s just that pro bodybuilding takes it to extremes.

Most men nowadays reaching for T-replacement therapy as some holy grail should prob just mind their diet and the way they train far better.

Smallman1 Where’s the ingredient list Ed? Only a few dietary supplements have been proven to AID in your body’s natural test production (emphasis on aid).

They are no miracle shortcut for betas that don’t feel like doing compound exercises like squat, deadlift, benchpress etc.

And no, apart from HITT, cardio will not boost your testosterone.

Morty-C-137 strength training is a great way of boosting it… btw I’m not talking about T-replacement therapy, just using various supplements to help.

I advise anyone: SKIP paying $64 for a bottle of that Nugenix overpriced bollox. All you get in there are some vit. B and Fenugreek seed.. pffhahahah.. Oh and ZINC!! (mind blown)

FF’s! Get a bottle of Ashwagande (for like $8), eat some almonds if you want zinc and eat properly for the vit B’s. Don’t drink alcohol and do strength training.

Jules72 Yes, skip that shit.. there are other ways to get your heart in shape that will not make your bolloks shrink.

You can’t ledge it as much as I do without having off the scale amounts of T Millsy.

A one man T / bants / treacle suaving machine!
