Mad_Cyril MC is clearly taking the piss here, however I also think something like this would actually be alright. The two-button suit with a thin jumper works well, although you should probably go for a less brazenly homosexual pattern on the jumper.
A lighter suit with, as you suggested, a dark roll-neck could be decent.
