We are pleased to welcome the man, the legend, that is @baggers44 to the MixPub decks this Friday, 29th September 7-9pm BST for the Friday Night Guest Mix.
Baggers fell in love with electronic and dance music from the end of the 80s when he heard house music for the first time at the Westworld parties in London before the acid revolution. Over the years he has broadened his tastes taking in everything from deep house, West Coast tech to progressive house and techno. In recent years, inspired by artists such as
Luigi Tozzi, Feral, Patrice Baümel and many others he has played and listened to dub and dark techno – dystopian sounds for a dystopian age. This mix was inspired by a recent performance in London by artists linked to the iconic Hypnus label in Sweden which (perhaps surprisingly) underlined the popularity of driving, hypnotic and slightly spaced out sounds in England.
Reminder that the hypnotic sounds of @baggers44 will be broadcast on the interwebs tonight from 7pm.
Yeehahh… oh say can you see… we’re pleased to announce that Afters will be stateside next week with @zackster spinning his back to mine sounds on MixPub, airing Sunday, 26 November 2023 from 17:00-19:00 BST direct from the U, S and A. Collect your guns, bring your favourite evangelical preacher and forget about your cholesterol levels as we go supersize.
He has put together a very special mix for us that you will definitely not want to miss.
Afters gives DJs the opportunity to dig deep into their musical history and roots to play the music they love that inspired them for a back to mine journey on your Sunday afternoon.
Huge thanks to @whatever for asking me. I put a lot of work into this one. It is programmed and beat matched to the hilt. 2 hours of breaks, dub techno, traditional ambient, and even a bit of prog. It has been sometime since I’ve been this pleased with a Dj mix I made, and I am genuinely excited for everyone to hear this. I tired to capture the mid 90s chill out room vibe as best I could, and it will be airing the day after what would have been Pete Namlook’s birthday.
