C_J should’ve gone for ‘Non-drowsy’ instead
20 years from Delta Heavy
Unbroken1 Never really liked the Progressive House tag, but the Mixmag article that originally coined the term nailed-it when they identified this ‘new’ strain of music that was being played around that time- a mixture of house dubs, tribal rhythms, big crescendos and drops, at a time when many clubs were polarised around either US garage, techno or Euro-trance it really was something fresh.
zackster you weren’t even born at the time, Zack
Along_the_Wire I was 3 when Bud Dwyer shot himself, mate.
zackster So 11 in 1994. Context is everything, as you know.
Along_the_Wire this is a fair point. Like, @LT42 knows as much as he does about 9/11 because he was actually on American Airlines Flight 77.
zackster I’m not sure what your beef is? It was a brilliant time and it was all new, every iteration was - 98-01 was the peak of clubbing? Was that when you really starting hitting it hard?
Along_the_Wire I don’t really have a point. Just gently ribbing Damo about the tired old prog definition.
Zackster had purple spikey hair and listened to happy hardcore with chipmunk vocals back in 98.
Brisk and Trixxy > Sasha and Digweed
You would’ve coveted my techno collection in the early days, Z. All out of the darkest jungles of Belgium and Rotterdam.

LT42 R&S being out of vogue at the time I started buying records was a huge part of how I got into techno. You could get their mid 90s stuff for dirt cheep because everybody wanted the newest prog records at the time. Seeing as my income was cutting grass over the summer, that was exactly the sort of price point I was looking for.
ScottBailey That video is a trip. I think I downloaded an edited version of that off of Limewire back in the day. I enjoyed the chic doing the interviews starting out by saying Ibiza, and switching to Ibitha after hearing Sasha pronounce it.
