He’s been diagnosed with aphasia (had to google that), and is retiring as the result. This goes a long way to explain why he’s done about 20 direct to DVD-movies in the past 5 years, poor fellas been collecting a retirement fund.
To say his career was uneven would putting it mildly. He did some absolute classics for sure (Die Hard gets a viewing every Christmas in our house), but I always thought he was the best in small roles in more indie fare like Moonrise Kingdom. Apart from Die Hard Unbreakable is my favorite movie of his.
