Amps yeah same, have had some fantastic years but god some of the rain I’ve seen

    Guessing it’s arguably left in a better state than most festivals are by their customers? Apparently 99.3% of tents where taken home in 2019?

        Amps don’t know about the stats in comparison to other festivals. Know Glasto’ introduced some positive steps towards reducing waste on the site in the last few years, but I did read reports from 2019 that the place was still left like a tip. One of the things the news don’t talk about is the mess the wider area is left in too. I know local residents have had to put up with festival goers using their gardens as toilets, local property being vandalised and rubbish being discarded outside of the festival site over the years.

            ScottBailey if the locals don’t like it then they can move?? A bit of piss and the odd turd in your garden once a year is not an issue? Ed must get that in a daily basis living in Tooting

                Can imagine that you also get a steady stream of ‘alternatives’ in the area throughout the year, to go with the once a year piss and turds.

                (The festival is mega - wish I was going this year).

                RichM Eavis has had to do a lot of grovelling to his neighbours over the years for sure. That’s why he created the Pilton party after festival to say “sorry” and “thanks” to the local community. Needless to say they eventually cashed in on that as well and it became Glasto 2.0

                    I tested positive for the rona last night and it’s very similar to the delta version I had last November except I can smell and taste stuff. Got fever and raging sore throat. Glastonbury could be curtains.

                          ScottBailey Yeah, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the middle class Waitrose festival that Glasto has become is more beneficial for it’s neighbours than festivals like Leeds / Reading, where the active annual sport is setting your mates tent on fire.

                              Along_the_Wire Sheeeeet - that is pants.
                              I had the Vid last week. Felt ropey on the Sunday night (but that down to boozy weekend). Had exactly the same symptoms develop the next day - the raging sore throat being the worst as was a nightmare to sleep. Felt shite for about ⅔ days but was back in the game by the Friday and produced a neg test at the end of that day. Lot quicker recovery than when I had it November which took about 2 weeks.
