alistair Iron Maiden, Depeche Mode, Prince and Fleetwood Mac. Just four artists that should have headlined. Will probably be Coldplay for the fifth time
Homegrove alistair Depeche Mode They did a neat trick of being a stadium act while staying sort of underground, or alternative at the same time. I can see why they never headlined, I don’t think they even did any festivals until recently.
Dan vinnyt77 Glastonbury doesn’t pay as much as normal gigs despite their massive ticket sales. Whether your a band or DJ it’s a supposed privledge to play there. Greg Wilson said on his blog they only pay 2/3rd of your normal fee.
ScottBailey alistair not sure I’d want to see them now. Was lucky enough to see them in 1990, albeit without Lindsey….again
jonattonyeah Dan Coachella is the same for lower-billed acts. Organizers see it as the best sort of promotion if you get booked there. Not sure about the super-headliners. I would guess they get a fairly high rate. Not sure why Coachella bothers given the place will sell out regardless of who the headliner is. Guess it’s a prestige thing.
Along_the_Wire Dan profit mostly goes to charity now that the cunts at Livenation have fucked off out it. Livenation made that festival a nightmare
