Was at some bizarre charity gig at a trendy art gallery in Soho years ago and the line up was Ian McCulloch (acoustic set) and Maya Jane Coles who did a turn on the decks.

McCulloch stormed out halfway through his set as no one was listening and then Maya Jane Coles played a 6 out of 10 set.

A very odd night.

      I saw this on Juno the other day and chuckled to myself. Couldn’t bring myself to listen to it. Just had a listen and its even worse than I imagined lol. What the fuck was he thinking?

      SM001 I’m more annoyed with that vertical track title in every artwerk. And they don’t credit the original artist in the title.

          Lol. Between them and Richie blacker, there does seem to be a sustained attempt to “re-edit” every big 90s trance or vocal track!

            Throw Trance Wax into the mix…..all of them sound horrendous.

              Dan given that, it wasn’t a surprise to see when he appeared on Telekom’s blind trance test episode that he actually seemed to know pretty much fuck all about the genre.

                    Smokemonk i’m not sure how they are allowed by copyright law (not my subject) to steal the essential and recognisable elements of a track and not credit the composer in the title. i suppose they must credit them somewhere even on a digital release. i also suppose that it beats having to sweat to make your own original music - just leaf through your endless collection of tunes from the last 30 years, choose one and make it a) breaksy and b) more moody.
