      Millsy lol. Most people under 40 can hold a conversation in English, which can be bad if you move here and want to go native. I have two friends who moved here from London over 15 years ago, and neither can still speak Finnish beyond a few phrases.

          Lol first I’ve heard of this.

          This week Alaska elected their first native american to congress (she beat Sarah Palin), and her last name was a Finnish one. I was intrigued enough to research her, and it turns out her husband is from Nebraska, at which point I was “ah that’s it.” Some 100 000 Finns moved to the US in the early 1900s, and most in Minnesota and Nebraska. I guess that area is most like home. Lots of lakes, and birch trees and all that.

          Kids in Oulu are badass. I switch from my bike to the citybus in October for the next six months, and these guys bike all year round.
