              As discussed before, Trump isn’t walking anything without winning a huge chunk of swing voters. Watching videos of braindead “USA” chanters filming a reality TV star with their phones is not a fair assessment of his chances. If anything he’ll have less voters than 2020. His cult are solidified but who cares about those mongos, they were tea party cultists 10 years ago and they’ll move onto the next fad when Trump is stinking out prison.

                This is the crux of it. And to be even more specific in this case swing voters = suburban women. Don does not poll well there, nor does any other Repub for that matter, because of Dobbs. However, Joe is also struggling with this demographic which i was makes him such a uniquely funny/bad candidate.

                    zackster yeah, most people with a screed of conscience would be disgusted by him and would vote for a donkey’s bollox rather than go through that nightmare again.
                    Best he can hope for is to delay his imminent incarceration by tying up the courts with frivilous appeals, which he’s currently trying but not succeeding with.
                    The lay of the land is a lot different to how he’s been promoted on right wing social media, they truly are living in a vacuum and reality is just around the corner. The con is in its death throes.

                      Today, my best guess would be Joe wins by a bigger margin than most people would expect. Post election everyone (Repubs) will start grappling with the post Dobbs reality. To me this is far from ideal; while it keeps Don out of office it also takes the pressure off of Dems to do ANYTHING they don’t want to because they will endlessly run on we protect a woman’s right to choose. That is where they always have wanted to be and largely were, until they cleared the field for Hillary and fumbled the bag.

                      The only itch I have is that the stupid cunt got elected in 2016 in the 1st place so Yank voters clearly can’t be trusted and therefore anything is possible, although less likely than 2016 at this point.

                      Oh it’s absolutely possible. The path is exactly the same as 2016: voter apathy due a wildly unpopular D candidate. Young people hate Brandon’s guts and don’t really give a shit who wins the election. I am absolutely in the bucket, and will be voting for Dr. West. This is how I would be voting regardless, however I think a different candidate could easily sway the votes required to make it a lock. Gruesome Gavin is the name most popular in the press right now, but I think there are plenty of people D’s would rally around if given the opportunity. The problem is that the party is dogshit. This is the perfect example of why neo-liberalism needs to fail in order for any meaningful change to happen, which is again why I don’t really give a shit how things shake out.
